Just a couple days after exclusively launching visual album "Endless" on Apple Music, R&B singer Frank Ocean has released his sophomore album "Blonde", which used to be referred to as "Boy's Don't Cry". The album, which is his first since his debut album "Channel Orange" in 2012, will be exclusive to Apple Music for two weeks.

The 17-track album was originally set to release on August 5, but Ocean and his teamed pushed back the release once the news was out to maintain the element of surprise, according to The New York Times. The release also includes the music video for Ocean's single, "Nikes."

A companion print magazine called "Boys Don't Cry" was reportedly going to be available at Apple retail stores. However, Ocean has only announced that four pop-up stores in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and London would carry the magazine.

"Endless" and "Blonde" are just two of the high-profile exclusives that Apple has secured for its music streaming service. Other content includes Drake's "Views" and Taylor Swift's "1989 World Tour LIVE,"

"Blonde" can be streamed on Apple Music now. [Direct Link]

I wonder if what Apple paid him for this exclusive will make up for the lost sales from those torrenting the album.

that looks so much like the nikon logo...

edit. font is different, couldn't spot the difference via mobile

Meh, can't say I'm really feeling the album. Its something you should probably listen to whilst baked.

Previous one was better IMHO

They are really killing it! First Drake, then Chance , then Frank next week this:

:D:D:D:D:D I love the exclusives as well as the catalogue. Spotify really is getting left in the dust.
Drake was only exclusive one week, Chance the Rapper for something like that too (Coloring Book is available on Spotify).
The only truly exclusive big name on Apple Music, so far, is Taylor Swift, as far as I know.

So no, Spotify isn't left in the dust, and people using it would just YouTube it for the short moment it's unavailable.
All in one, I hope these exclusivity deals are really profitable for the artist, because they don't exactly make much from pirate youtube links and torrents, compared to an official YouTube account or Spotify release (even if they pay really terrible amounts).

Too early to make that assumption.

Channel Orange wasn't appealing at first but had me hooked a week in..

Oh man, I thought this was a follow up to the '88 album w/ Get Out Of My Dreams.

Apple hasn't lost any money due to torrenters resulting from the exclusive. That implies they had that money in the first place, which they didn't. They simply didn't make an unquantifiable sum from iTunes sales which they might have made that distribution model been part of the plan, which it wasn't, so that qty is 0. In exchange for that 0, they're making the unquantifiable sum on Apple Music signups, which only they might be able to ballpark based on statistical modeling.

It's available for purchase from iTunes for $9.99. It's not only limited to Apple Music.

What is the big deal with Frank Ocean? I've never heard of him before until this whole Apple Music thing.
One hit wonder, nothing to see here unless you're 14 years old. Will fall off the radar in a year or so.

If you listen to international music, Apple Music has a pretty weak catalog. Also, as a person that likes to save music offline, my music app tends to crash multiple times on an iPhone 6s, whenever I try to save a playlist offline. Playlist such as recently played never display the correct songs. And radio's tend to play the same 50 songs on shuffle with no variety. There are many other daily flaws, and I doubt Apple will fix all with iOS 10, but I'm hoping that they will...
