Wow, just started playing the game Superliminal (on my Mac ;)) and it is a perfect descendant of Portal 2. Not exactly the same as Portal 2 mind you, but with an equally clever and fun storyline and simply brain-breaking gameplay.

Would love to hear from others who have played it.

I played a couple of hours of that - it's free on Game Pass. I found it was too samey and the controls were fiddly, trying to get objects in exactly the right perspective could get annoying.

Nothing can hold a candle to the Portal games, in my opinion, but have you tried The Witness? It doesn't attempt to be Portal-style witty, like Superliminal does (and fails miserably, I'd say) but it's one of the cleverest pieces of game design there has ever been. So it matches Portal in that regard.

I played the Witness about a quarter through, puzzles are good. But it was ultimately kind of lifeless and boring. I do disagree with you on the humor in Superliminal failing miserably. Again nothing compares to Portal 2, but between the commemtary and the funny 'loading' screens it did make me smile a lot.

The Witness is the only game that's made me feel smart for solving it. You can't brute-force it, blunder your way through or randomly click on everything until the solution becomes apparent, which is all Superliminal really has to offer. Click on object, make it big, make it small, oh look, there's the exit.

Everything you need to solve The Witness is right there, in and around each puzzle, and everything you've seen up to that point is kind of educating you on how all this stuff *might* work. It never tells you. For example, you can see the ending within a few seconds of the start, it was there all along, staring you in the face. But you probably won't notice it until you've been taught everything.

Sorry, yes, Superliminal. I just looked at a video to remind myself and it seems I was only a few minutes from the end when I gave up on it. If you like the Portal-style voiceovers, maybe try the Stanley Parable - no puzzles but it's weird and mysterious (and very pretentious).
