Yes, it's true.... said celebrity did indeed attend, and was a senior at, the high school I attended my sophomore year. I've known this little fact for a while now (I confirmed it by looking in my yearbook), but I was consciously reminded of it when he did an interview on a radio show I was listening to this morning. I suppose I had slightly better odds of pseudo-brushing elbows with a famous person (never actually remember meeting the guy) during his/her pre-fame days since I attended three different high schools and who knows how many elementary schools, but it got me to thinking... what are the odds of going to school with a famous person? College doesn't count (unless it's a really small college) since it's typically an institution that houses so many more people.

Cool! Dave Thomas went to the high school that my math teacher went to for part of her high school career until they tore it down.

I know there's a couple well known people that went to my highschool. Off the top of my head the only one I can think of is Carry-Anne Moss though.

Which Dave Thomas? The Wendy's founder or the McKenzie Brother?

Eh, Rob Thomas went to my old high school. Wayne Brady and Wesley Snipes went to my best friend's high school. (We lived in Orlando years ago, out of college now.)

Oh yeah, well Hall-of-Famer Jimmy Collins went to my high school... :D

Jim Sowden went to my high school. Man, that dude got all the ladies, it wasn't even fair.

Brad Pitt went to mine. His neighborhood was right next to mine. The neighborhoods actually bled into each other, but for the sake of rivalry he was from Village Green and I was from Parkcrest. *Makes Parkcrest gang sign*

Gary Carter (baseball hall of fame) went to mine.

Also the red ranger from the first power rangers show

Famous alumni:
PGA golfer Fuzzy Zoeller

Trivia:
Edwin Hubble's (The guy the Hubble Space Telescope is named after) first job after college was teaching physics at the high school I graduated from.

My high school was home to the first high school in the world to have a radio station (88.1 FM WNAS) http://www.wnas.org.

First public high school in the state of Indiana.

Robert Sean Leonard went to my High School in NJ. He was a few years ahead of me.

And not really a celebrity, but the boy who sang, my little pony, pretty pony, for the commercial went to my elementary and high school.

Famous(ish) people who went to my school include Richard Cresswell (a professional footballer currently playing for Leeds United), who was a couple of years below me, and children's TV presenter Peter Simon (star of Double Dare!).

Well, I say include – they're actually the only two people who went to my school who have achieved anything close to celebrity, other than a kid who got trounced on Blockbusters.

Chris Farley (RIP) went to my High School. Unfortunately, he was 5 years ahead of me, so I never really met him, although my Jr High did have classes in the HS...

Did hear some stories (from teachers/alumni) that seemed typical as to what you'd expect upon thinking about him.

Was friends with Terrence Howard in college (Hustle and Flow). Guess we found out who won that popularity contest.

Pratt famouse alumni-

Maurice Sendak
Robert Redford
John Flansburgh (They Might Be Giants)
Rob Zombie
Robert Mapplethorpe
Daniel Clowes (Ghost World creator)
Harvey Fierstein
William Van Allen (designer of the Chrysler Building)

Also, Debbie Does Dallas was filmed there:D

Uh, famous alumni at my old HS:

One of the Bachelorettes in that god awful TV show.
Some slut in a Girls Gone Wild video.

Hmm...think thats about it really. Stone Phillips graduated from one of my old high school's biggest rivals.

As for my high school, according to the wiki article, all these people went there:
adam corolla
cuba gooding jr
brian austin green
john williams (!!!)
philip zimbardo (anyone who's taken intro to psych should know this guy..)
susan sontag

as for the program I was in (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highly_Gifted_Magnet), Morgan Webb of The Screen Savers fame (remember TechTV before G4? Yeah...) as well as X-Play graduated from there...very cool... :)

Oh, and Sally Ride (first American woman in outer space) went to my middle school.

There are at least 6 current NHL players that went to my high school (hence the 26 consecutive divisional championships). One of them is Brian Berard, another is Jeff Jillson (whose brother is a complete nimrod). They all graduated before I got there though.
Also, Erik Per Sullivan goes to the same school now, and I think he's a freshman.
Also, Rocco Baldelli is sort-of from my town, as are the Farrelly brothers.
