Just be aware that DirectTV Now is probably the worst streaming service available on the Apple TV. The content is fine, it's just that the reliability and performance of the app is quite poor, and it's absolutely miserable for on-demand content.

So, consider that $140 offer as going totally toward the purchase of the Apple TV, not as some kind of "deal" for DirectTV Now.

Purely YMMV. I haven't had a single issue in the past few months.

it has drastically improved the past few months. In fact, the picture quality is now better than the Vue. DirecTV streaming now supports 1080p60.

I honestly do not know if it stacks but Bank of America just offered me $35 cash back if I purchase at least 1 month of DirectTV Now. So if anyone here has BOA be sure to activate your rewards and use the card to purchase the service. Your price might go down to $105.

That was what I just did. You don't get a new 4k for less than $180, this was a steal of a deal to go with my new 4k tv. the content capabilities or NOT are a moot point. I haven't paid for programing since cutting the cord 8 years ago. IF its decent I will think about keeping it, but if not, no harm no foul. Ill keep my 4k ATV and be happy! Cheers
