iStat Menus is an excellent lil app but alas, from version 3 onwards the devs now charge $10. Unless you can find version 2 somewhere which is free but doesn't allow you to adjust fan speeds - only monitor them. 😉

I use iStat, but there is no control, just display. I show temps, network throughput, and CPU usage.

Version 3 allows you to adjust fan speeds.
