Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines (2004) 50% off, $9.99, PC.
On sale at GoG.com till 1/3/25, I don’t see a date for Steam, on sale there too. It. Seems to constantly be on sale. GOG.com is the preferred buy due to absence of DRM. You’ll need to add the latest Unofficial Patch. Check the link in blurb in the VTMB thread here. I believe the unofficial patch is included with the GOG.comm version of the game.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora 60% off till Jan20, 2025. Base game $29, Delux $30something. Warning: SSD drive required to play game...

If you've wanted to visit Pandora this might be an opportunity at a discount. Heavily marked down. The game has gotten decent reviews. Yep, I broke down and took a chance... It's described as similar to a FaryCry feeling open world. I really liked FarCry..

For anyone with Amazon Prime, I strongly recommend checking out the Prime Gaming site. I got this game for free from there either last month or in March.

Is a cracking game, little pricy but worth the play as is Deus Ex - Human Revolution. Both easily see off CP2077 as they are Cyberpunk...

Tempting. Doesn't play well on Steam Deck from what I've heard, so I probably shouldn't...

The Resident Evil 4 Remake is also part of that sale and is fantastic and worth picking up if you haven't.

Deathloop is also free on Epic til the 12th.

I'm trying to remember if I played the original RE. Was that Raccoon City for am I thinking about a different Franchise? I'm looking at the remake bundle on Steam at $40 thinking about it... 🤔

The original RE takes place in a mansion in Raccoon City. The 2nd and 3rd games take place in Raccoon City itself.

Lol, so much for my memory, I have RE4 (2005) which I won't be able to say I've played until I load it up.In my Steam library it does not indicate I have any hours playing it, but maybe it must be installed? In this situation I'm more inclined to play the original before giving the remake a shot.

No, it doesn't have to be installed. RE4 takes place in Spain and is about Leon looking for the President's daughter. The original is good too, but obviously it's twenty years old. It was also very popular on PS2 and GameCube and has been ported to near everything, so maybe you played it elsewhere too?

I have a habit of buying games on sale, putting them into my play queue, and sometimes they don’t get played. 😐

Have you played both? Apologies if you’ve already stated you have but I’m just curious how much substantially different as compared to the original, is the remake? I assume it’s mostly based on graphics and fidelity, but I thought I read that there were also changes in characters such as how they act?

Yes, I've played both. Although it's been a while since I played through the entirety of the original. The general story is the same in both. But there is some differences in story and fights. Characters are mostly the same, but there's some modernization. There are some changes in mechanics, you can't shoot and move in the original but you can in the remake for example and it's been balanced for that so it doesn't play exactly the same, nor is it broken because of that.
