My apologies for my rookieness but will this program allow me to take my DVD collection and convert them to my iPhone/iPad via iTunes syncing. Thanks fellas!

So had an HD movie file and had it converted, WOW it was fast! Handbrake always takes the length of the movie ( 2hrs+) to finish! I can't wait to see how fast I can burn my DVD collection now.

Not sure if this software will decrypt a DVD, but Handbrake used in tandem with VLC will do a straight DVD-to-iPhone rip. At least, it will on my Mac.

Can confirm working and looking good. :D

Shutter Island! Nice.

Finally!

I had some AVI's that, when I used HandBrake, their video/audio become unsync'ed getting cumulatively worse towards the end of the clip. Researching provided all kinds of reasons but no easy fixes.

Just tried this and it worked! Audio and video still in sync at the end of a 20 minute clip!

What I can't get working are those iphone4 profiles. Well they work, and I drag them into iTunes, I checkmark them to sync to my phone, but they just don't show up on my phone. When I use the 640x480 profile (also under iphone) I have no problems getting it onto my phone.

Question?

Which resolution do you prefer?

720x1280 (wide screen?)
or
680x960 (full screen?)

Thanks OP! Great find! :D

Also bump for anyone who hasn't yet heard about this;) Hurry people only a few hours left!

I'd prefer either if I could get them to transfer to my new phone! What kind of noob error am I committing?

Need more info. Is there an error message saying that the file will not play on this device(iPhone 4), or do you just not know how to upload a video on your iPhone 4? Get back to me and 'll see if I can help!

I've always used Handbrake or Super, and want to get Handbrake to work but I tried downloading the presets, and even though it shows up in Handbrake, it's not the right presets. I know that Lifehacker shows how to fix it, but I just don't understand that part of it or how to get it to work. Please help!

I've got the file, actually 3 files now, in my itunes library. I've given them names that include the resolution for easy identification. I go to the Movies tab of my phone (in iTunes) and checkmark the 3 files/movies. I then sync and watch the message box at the top of the itunes window and it only transfers the 640x480 version. Looking at my phone confirms this. I tried both those iphone4 settings and the resulting files play fine in itunes but just don't go to the phone.

I downloaded a free surfing movie from surfline the other day and although it was in MP4 format, I had to convert it to an iphone format (Advanced menu in itunes) before it would sync to my phone. I was assuming this problem was similar but it doesn't make sense seeing as the profile is for the iphone4 and thats what I have and it apparently works for other people. I'm on itunes 9.2
