I'm in the market for a new Macbook Pro this summer (trying to wait until they come with Lion preinstalled) and I'm hoping to sell the free iPod Touch that I'll get as a student to offset the cost, assuming Apple runs that promotion again. I have an iPhone so I don't need it. Have you all had luck getting close to retail on a sealed iPod Touch on Craigslist? Also, I assume a Touch would be a better choice for resale value than a Classic, right?
I was thinking of offering to meet the person at a Starbucks with my MBP and the sealed iPod, so they could open it and I could activate it from my computer if they want to make sure it all works - or I could wait for them to activate from their laptop if they prefer. I'd bring a friend, obviously, as I'm small and female. There are two Apple stores near me and they're both close enough to a Starbucks that if the iPod was a dud we could get it replaced on the spot. Anything else I should think about?
