That might explain why they haven’t emailed me a code…
Can I borrow someone’s who hasn’t used it in the U.S. store?
 
Whenever I click on a link to get the free song I get redirected to the iTunes download page. I assume because it thinks I don't have iTunes already installed, which of course I do. To add insult to injury it is the Windows download page even though I am on a Mac. Any help would be appreciated.

The link is probably correct and it's the iTunes Music Store that is the problem. Apple is rather flaky about just when the free song of the week is actually free. Sometimes the iTMS page describes the song as free hours or days before it actually becomes free. Now and then it never becomes free at all. Try again daily and the price may change before the next one comes out. You can even keep it in your shopping cart and watch for the price to magically change there.

Could you give step by step instructions for getting extranational accounts? Nothing I’ve tried has worked so far.
 
Today's 2 freebies still show up as $.99 even on their "free download" prommo pages :eek: Odd how that keeps happening. (Usually gets fixed within a day though.)

Here's the way I would do it if I were Apple:

1. FIRST drop the price to free.

2. THEN announce the free songs :D
 
Looks like they haven't figured it out yet :D Seems like it used to be an occasional issue, and now it's every week.

That's OK, I put the .99 song in my cart, and it magically turns to free later in the day. (And it does always seem to stop you if you try to buy it before then.)
 
The free song of the week ("Cash Machine") isn't producing the "limited time only" warning when you put it in your shopping cart. That could be a sign that it will stay free indefinitely, but I think it's more likely just another mistake in Apple's settings.

Yes, highly annoying. Maybe they should just call it new music wednesday on the assumption it will take them 12-24 hours to get it right.
