What exactly do you need another sms app for? As in, what does the native app not do that you would like to do?

An app which has inbox, sent messages etc. Atleast the messages stay organised. The native way is cluttered.

biteSMS used to be free, but then they charged for it :p
I highly recommend QuickSMS even though you have to pay for it, I was hesitant about buying it but I love it because its REALLY fast, and you can text while in the middle of apps.

But I don't think there's any other free messaging apps anymore.

I'll give that a try! I'm using iRealSms which is cool but a trial version. Il try QuickSms and choose one of them!

Is the native sms going to change in 3.0?

    I hope it does!

    Thanks

The native SMS app will get a few updates in 3.0. You'll be able to send photos, locations, audio, and contacts as an MMS now. You'll also be able to delete single texts and forward messages.
