Free synths for Logic Studio 8?

Does anyone have any recommendations for free synths that will run in Logic Studio 8. I'm looking for ones which deal mainly with bass (kinda like NI Massive, but obviously not as complex). Any other suggestions are welcome it does not need to be purely bass related synths, I have pretty good ideas on all fronts in terms of music.

i typed 'free synth VST' into google

there's a lot of free VST's out there

and some AU's too

I appreciate the help, but I have found long lists of available synths myself. But there are so many that it would be impossible to test them all out myself.

What I was really looking for was some recommendations from people who have actually used them who could comment on stability and usability of specific plug-ins.
