free virus protection?

what virus protection do yall use? how much did it cost? where did you get it? any free alternatives?

I used to run Virex through .Mac, but now I use nothing.

Noooo. Not McAfee!!! Go with AVG it is alot better and free!!!!! McAfee is too intrusive.

I second the vote for AVG

I would suggest AVG as some other posters here have done. I use it on my Mac with XP SP 2 just fine and have used it for years on Windows boxes. There are some other free antivirus packages out there too.

I use Norton antivirusor symantec i m nto sure i think they are the same(in my windows machine), and i get it for free from my university, most unis do...do you go to school, or know anyone that goes to school?

Did you not notice the date of the last post ?, if they haven't got a AV installed by now ( windows side of things ) it'll be long dead by now

Also i hope you realize that Norton is probably the worst thing you could possibly install on your Mac ? & probably just as bad on windows machines ( though i've never used it )
