iPhone XS Max Free year of Apple TV+ with IPhone upgrade program?

Can you get the free year of Appletv+ with an upgrade of your iPhone.
 
Yes I am just wondering if this deal applies to people in the iPhone upgrade program.

Yes. I know this for two reasons:

1) The iUP is a purchase from Apple's POV, just as an auto lease is a sale to the dealership. The technical buyer or form of financing doesn't change that.

2) If you go through the process on the Apple Store app right now, even though you can't (yet) click the final link, it calls out the free year.

My guess is you get the FIRST year free then $4.99/mo (unless you cancel each year and start a new Apple TV+ with next years phone). But who knows - brand new program, things change quickly from year to year.

One year of Apple TV+ is included in all Mac, iPad or iPhone purchases from today onwards. I just checked and this even includes the $449 iPhone 8 and $149 Apple TV, effectively lowering the iPhone price to $389 and Apple TV to $89 if you were going to get Apple TV+ anyways.

I just ordered a new ATV 4k yesterday and there was no info on getting the free year of ATV+. Have written support but no response yet.
Does anyone know the details of how it works?
 
I wonder if it's account level or do they give you a code to redeem in the app store for it or something.. I really don't want ATV+, I'll rather give it to my dad.

I think its tied to your apple id. I asked(Apple) it we as family get 2 years for free if me and my wife upgrade and Apple said no each gets a year but its the same year lol
 
Really an insignificant amount to Apple especially since, at the moment, there isn't much on TV+. Get people on board and then work to keep them

does it only work if you buy/ugrade through apple or even with your carrier you get the 1 yr free atv?
