Hi guys, i showed my friend this weblink and he was very impressed / surprised, so i thought id share it with all of you (well the ones that don't already know of the site or the linked apps), these are all open-source apps, free. most are as good as there counterparts, so you can save hundreds of pounds, of particular note are:
gimp > counterapart photoshop
Blender 3D > counterpart maya / lightwave etc
open / neoffice > counterpart microsoft office

so have a look for some great software, may even be some on there you dont know of.
(by the way its not my site or anything, i just stumbled upon it)

(they also have a good list of portable apps, to keep on an ipod or memory stick etc)

Thanks for the link, found some cool new software that I didn't know existed, and found updates to some programs that I use regularly.

another well known site ..
