Hi!

After years using free and donation software, I was wondering if I could help by translating OSX applications. My mother tongues are Spanish and French. I guess there's already a whole freeware translation network, so I'm asking, just in case...

I also totally agree that its a great idea.

I suspect your best bet is to contact the developers of your favourite applications that are English only, and ask if they want you to help translate them.

As a developer its difficult to know if there are lots of people who actually want the application translated, and its rare to get emails requesting translation, probably as the people who really need it translated to their native language aren't able to email me to ask to translate my application in the first place ;).

Well, unless it's a Farsi-Hebrew dictionary, I guess most apps could use some translating. :p One of the things I liked about OS X when I switched was the quality of its "small" software, and maybe some translations would help to spread its use, now the user base is growing in size...

I'm gonna do the cocoalocalizers thing, thanks, kainjow.

Anyway, if you read this and are interested, feel free to PM me.

I'm available for:
French <-> Spanish
English -> French
English -> Spanish
