I will get my MBA 11" Ultimate tomorrow.

I usually do a fresh install on any new mac to get rid of the stuff I don't want like iPhoto, Preview, 47 languages I don't speak and all the other baggage. It seems particularly important with only a 128 GB drive.

Here's my question. Can I do that from the USB stick. Will it be just like a System DVD with disk tools and hardware test? If it is, how do I get it to boot from the USB drive? Still the C key?

Thanks, Tom

I did it yesterday by holding down the option key.

You have the option to uncheck the stuff you don't want, but iLife '11 is just an installer on the USB restore drive and not part of the system install.
