I have not done a fresh iOS install probably since iPhone X. So, I think I am due when my new 16PM arrives.

Is there anything I need to worry about losing? All of my photos, contacts, docs, etc. are backed up to iCloud.

Any tips, or lessons learned from missteps, if you have done this before would be well received. Thanks.

Banking apps can be a pain to set up again, depending on their workflow. Some games don’t store progress on iCloud, so saves are lost. Other than that, I haven’t encountered any major drawbacks.

edit : Signal on iOS has no backup capabilities, so if you use it, you need both phones close to each other to transfer chats

Some 2FA apps can also be a pain if they don't have a way to backup/transfer your existing accounts/codes. Be sure to have those backed up if possible, or you'll be locked out of your online accounts and have to set up 2FA all over again.

If you're getting rid of your old phone, make an encrypted local backup on your computer that you can always go back to in case of an emergency.
