Hello,

iMac has blown and was wondering if anyone could help me. I have attached pictures of the scorched area and the screen is faulty due to the blow aswell but everything else is fine as far as I am aware.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Graham

Is there no possible way to get parts and then repair it?

Thanks,
Graham

If an explosion caused it you will need an equally powerful implosion to reverse the effects. Or bring it into a service provider. Whichever is easier.

Damn and here was me thinking it was the scottish with a new deep fried invention....

As other have said graham - take it to apple and let them service it, very unlikely you can repair it yourself etc

That is the power supply I assume. It has a part number on it. Do a search on eBay and you can probably find one. You have already removed it so the technical skills seem to be adequate to replace it.

Yeah, looks like a several shorted components on the power supply board. Salvaged boards are probably floating around Ebay. Unlike the main logic board, this looks easy to replace.

Is the iMac under warranty still? If it blew for no apparent reason it is covered.
