So my charger fried my iPhone. The charger has a burnt spot on it and the phone smells like it has been fried. Does anyone know if by taking it to the apple store that I will receive another one?

only way to really know

is to make a appointment. I would take the charger as well check the water indicators. as long as they are white I think you should be fine. one is on top inside the headphone jack another on the bottom near the charger use a flashlight to look. if they are red or pink then it will be $199 🙁 but taking it in or contacting Apple support is the only way to be a 100%

Thanks for the reply. Just checked the water sensor near the bottom of the phone and it's red 🙁

why the charger most likely fried it moisture and electricity don't mix. Sorry $199 is what you will have to pay!
