I've judt found out a friend got an iMac yesterday dont know if it was online or instore. Where does he stand on taking it back for a new one?

Most places will do a return on unopened/unused products....

In the UK its law that they have to do a complete return and refund cos you couldn't check the product in store (Distance Selling regulations) - but he WILL have to pay to ship it back and it will be his responsibility to insure it etc to make sure it gets back in 1 piece .... some stores will arrange a courier for you but will charge for it..... they HAVE to give him 100% back the retail price less shipping though.

An actual store *might* want to charge you a restocking fee for unwanted but not faulty goods.... can be up to 10%
