I’m currently using Friendly Streaming so that I have one app to access all my streaming services (Netflix, Amazon, discovery plus, channel 4 etc), anyone know of any similar apps? I occasionally run into niggles with FS.

My niggle with it is it got installed on my Mac and opens without my say-so. Who's responsible for this insult?

Probably you 🙂 There is a Start at login option during the configuration. You can disable it in the app’s settings – Advanced – Launch at login.
