I upgraded from a 13 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max.

The first thing I noticed was how much lighter the 15PM is. I also really love having USB-C (finally) so I can use the same cable to charge all of my devices. The camera is a pretty big improvement as well.

Edit: Oh, the dynamic island is also a welcome addition.

Is there anyone who uprgraded from the 13 pro to the 15 pro? what are you experiences with the phone? hows the battery life compared to the 13? and what about the camera? is there a noticeable improvement?
I haven't read any of the replies yet, but I wanted to share my favorite thing about the phone. It's not techy and super simple.

IT'S LIGHT, IT'S EASY TO HOLD!

It took til now to realize how many troubles I had holding my 13 pro max. Especially when first waking up in the morning when I'm tired and don't have energy. My hand used to cramp up. This phone is SO light. The edges are smooth and almost "buttery"

There are obviously many more features I love.

Upgraded from 13 Pro to 15 Pro. The weight difference is immediately noticeable, and even though its minute, the smaller dimensions do make it feel like a noticeable smaller device. No issues with overheating after setup. I'm a relatively light phone user, so I haven't tried the camera yet, but over feels like a nice upgrade (especially since battery life on my 13 Pro had degraded to the point of being terrible).

some have
Who? Provide a reviewer and proof they got iPhones early.

Apple does not release products to reviewers until after Apple’s event. The only entities that get pre-release are parts suppliers and other vendors. And these parts suppliers and vendors only get bits and pieces, enough to make their product. These vendors and parts suppliers are under strict NDAs.

I don’t think any battery comparisons are fair yet. It’s only been released for one full day now. It takes some time to get a feel for battery and many were likely using it more after getting it the first day. I’d wait a few weeks before making a judgement on battery life.
I keep hearing this but never understand it because I have never owned an iPhone that experienced a significant improvement in battery life after a software update or after a few weeks. And I have owned a lot of iPhones. Also, waiting a few weeks in the somewhat blind hope that it improves means that you’ll miss the return window. I wouldn’t risk it.

Interesting thread as this is my possible upgrade. To be blunt the 13 Pro has been one of the most uncomfortable phones I’ve ever used. So I’m glad to hear the 15 is better in this respect.

After everything syncs it won’t drain as much but at least for me I’m more likely to be using it more since it’s new for the first few weeks. I don’t mean that the battery will get better on its own, just you’ll use it less.

I too did 13P > 15P, which I understand is one of the more ‘controversial’ upgrade paths this year.

Overall for me, a worthy upgrade - but only just. My previous upgrade was 11P > 13P and yet, somehow, 13P > 15P feels like a smaller upgrade, at least four days in.

Some quick thoughts:

Design:

Titanium design and Blue Titanium are both excellent. The phone is much nicer being lighter, the dark blue is so sleek and classy, brushed finish on the frame also looks nice, in general blue being my favourite colour means I don’t feel as bad saying bye to my 13 Pro in Sierra Blue here.

Dynamic Island:

Love it - whether it is the timer to keep me better organised sticking to my deadlines, or much easier control of music that is playing - this is very useful for me.

AOD:

Like it - it is nice when the phone is sitting on my office desk and I can just glance quickly at the temperature or the time or the calendar widget.

USB-C:

I think I will appreciate this the most when I am travelling as I will only need a USB cable for my devices. Nintendo Switch uses USB-C too, well that’s neat. However, when I am at home, I have a MagSafe Multicharging dock which I still love and don’t want to give up yet. However, USB-C will be very nice when transferring files to / from my MacBook.

Battery:

It feels comparable to my day 1 13P. Around the same, can’t say better or worse than my day 1 13P. However today my two year old 13P is sitting at 87% battery health, it is really worn down. 15P battery of launch day is already better than the old phone on 87% it replaced, that worn down battery life really took the shine away of one of the 13P’s big features - not taking a potshot however because a paints a grim picture of what to expect when the 15P’s battery health gets down to that percentage..

Camera:

A pity that it didn’t get the 5x zoom that the PM got. 48MP pictures have incredible detail - I love airdropping them to my iPad and then zooming in and seeing the incredible detail there. I like that 24MP is the default for the regular main shots. However, disappointingly, Night Mode has incremental improvements compared to 13P. Ultra Wide looks less noisy. Overall the big improvements are clearly for the daytime shots.

Other:

The speakers have significantly improved volume and much richer sound quality. The thinnest bezels ever on the screen, I also love. I could also swear that ProMotion somehow feels snappier on this phone.

Overall:

Two things Apple could and should have included - fast charging and actual improved battery life. I can see for many people how hanging onto 13P would easily be worth it. For me, I always loved the AOD and DI introduced last year - but couldn’t justify leaving my 13P after just one year. I also got a larger storage capacity this time around and wanted the improved cameras as I have a heap of overseas travel planned for this next year. I can already tell it would be hard to go back a phone without AOD and DI, so I will stay put and 13 Pro will shortly go for trade in.

My personal experience/response to the original post:

I went from Blue 13Pro to Blue 15 Pro.

Haven't had any overheating. Got a little warm during the transfer stuff but that's it. No overheating in pokemon go either.

Of course I'm only on day 3 here and my 13 Pro was at 87% battery capacity but battery life is definitely a bit better so far.

They definitely traded perf for battery improvements. But I gotta say, this is the smoothest/fastest phone I've EVER used, by a large margin. Everything is lightning fast (pun intended).

Response to the video:

Absolutely **** off to the the general consensus response regarding the 15 Pro's result in this video quite frankly.

I feel like people are taking the wrong message from this. Just because it's second to last. Doesn't mean it's battery performance is bad! It still lasted for 9 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES of screen on time. It looks bad because of the other scores, it's like an illusion.

You really planning on using more than 9 hours an 20 minutes of screen on time in a day? I mean people who are, they know who they are and they'll get the max. But don't let this video skew your perception of the battery life.

Do you have chargers accessible to you throughout the day, like in the car, at work desk, at night? Really just consider your use case and charging habits and access before you think "but battery life?!"

Side note: It does suck that he didn't put the 13 Pro in here, but lets cut him some slack he is testing several phones for several hours straight already.
oh update. I did find an overheating situation. When I charge the phone with my MBP charger. Must be drawing the maximum allowed wattage. Went from 20 to 80 and then stopped due to heat reasons.

I switched from the 13P to the 15P too. Yes, enjoying that It’s lighter. Nicer in the pocket for dog walks. Also enjoying the always on display. The dynamic island is nice, but I haven't really gotten used to it yet. Oh, and I like the satellite for emergences, since I do some hiking in non cell phone areas. I'm happy, but honestly the 13P was such a well built phone. I would have kept it for another year or two, but I couldn’t refuse the trade in offer.

Same upgrade path for me. T-Mobile offering $1000 for trade-in was nice. Otherwise I wouldn't have done it. The 15P isn't that large of a leap, but nice to finally have dynamic island and usb-c.

thank you all for your experiences, im still waiting for more reviews to adress the battery and overheating issues, that could be a big bummer for me

I didn’t go from a 13 Pro but from a 12 Pro. I usually upgrade every two years. But when the 14 was announced and no USB C was present I decided to wait and see if the 15 Pro would add it. I could’ve definitely held on to my 12 Pro. I had a battery change on it like a month ago and it was running smooth as butter. But I think for me having USB C and the addition of WiFi 6E along with AOD has been worth the upgrade. Also the slightly smaller footprint and the curved edges I can’t see myself going back to the hard edges of the previous models at this moment.

The new edges and sloped design are really underrated and not talked about enough in the reviews in my opinion.

Without a case the difference in design is night and day, the new phones are so much more comfortable in the hand than the last designs.

I actually thought the speakers seemed a little worse to be honest. Maybe my imagination though. Overall, agree with all your points as a 13PM upgrader. Great phone with some little quirks that hopefully will be upgraded by software fixes over time.

just had heat while setting up the phone. Don't have any problems with my usage. but I don't play games beside clash of clans and clash royal.
i also play these 2 games most of times. i am new to cr but playing coc from a long time.
