Not sure about that. I haven't tested it full-time.

Opera is a browser I've wanted to like, but it always has at least one deal-breaking flaw. In the case of recent OS X versions it's the fact that it triggers the discreet GPU in my system when other browsers (even Chrome) do not.
I use gfxcardstatus to force my GPU into Iris-only before launching Opera on battery power, and that does the trick![]()
Considering such a step is unnecessary with any other browser, and that this issue has persisted pretty much since Opera switched to Chromium, I would rather be lazy myself than reward Opera for its laziness in failing to address the problem.
