Yeah I know all the tradeoffs, all of them. I know Tim Apple cannot sell it for the Air, I know I know, but still, its form factor is so impressive that I immediately don't care that much about the telephoto cam, the stereo speaker, the much better battery life and thermo performance etc etc.

iPhone 17 Pro is perfect for being a pro and all-around device yet it feels like a brick to me. It is like a phone version of a gaming laptop. I am so glad that I am not a heavy camera or mobile gaming user.

This is the iPhone I always want to have, the simple, gorgeous, future-like iPhone that I imagined what the next 10 years iPhone would be when I was still a freshman student.

Thank you Tim Apple for releasing such an incredible device.

I enjoy looking at my iPhone Air, just as it lays on my desk. I enjoy holding it in my hand. Unlike my older Pro Max phones, my Air looks and feels delightful. That's enough for me.

Nice to hear the positive comments on the Air, I was intrigued however I was swayed from all the negative reviews and though I wanted the standard 17, it wasn't available in Thailand when my girl and I went to upgrade from our 13 Pro's. So I ended up with the 17 Pro and she the 17 Pro Max. The Air was available as it wasn't selling well in Thailand either. I was concerned with camera which honestly I don't use that much and was concerned with the battery life. If I had to make the decision again I might have given the Air more merit.

Yeah the air is better than pro !
I think you need to go into a bit more depth, because there are plenty of areas where the Air simply isn’t better than the Pro from a specifications standpoint.

Using that line of reasoning, you could just as easily argue that a Ford Fiesta is “better” than an Aston Martin Valkyrie because it has a radio in it 😄

I've had the air since it was released. The form factor is unbeatable. The camera is very good - though I did use a friends 17 pro and those cameras are incredible!

The air is very strong - I have no case and no scratches at all on the glass or metal frame. I'm very impressed.

Battery life is excellent and the screen is beautiful. The 17pro looks and feel old school - despite the specs.

I can't imagine the form factor disappearing- better specs (ie: cameras) and the air will be VERY popular.

Oh don’t worry I know that the iPhone pro has some extras but the air gives you what you really need in a very nice phone !

I have both the Air, got mine on launch day, and my 17 Pro, which I got in December. I have been enjoying using my Air as my primary iPhone and it has been great to use. Even after five months of use, I am still loving its thin and light frame. To me the Air brings that premium look and feel the current Pro series lack however the Pro has a more ulititarian look and feel to it. It is much heavier than the Air and feels more bulky in comparison but there is no question the Pro is a much more capable iPhone compared to the Air.

Still with that said, I still prefer using my Air on a daily basis and take my 17 Pro whenever I want to take advantage of it’s much better camera setup.

This is a very underrated feature of the Air. It's the first iPhone that really feels like it was designed to be used caseless. I don't just mean that it's so thin that putting a case on it would spoil it (to be honest, that point makes no sense to me). I mean that the titanium frame feels so rigid, the improved ceramic back and front feel so sturdy, and the form factor is so light and easy to handle, that I feel confident handling and using it without a case.

Since the first iPhone, it's been borderline criminal that Apple used premium materials like glass and steel that were immediately covered up with a cheap plastic case by 99% of iPhone users. And justifiably so, as one drop from a few feet could destroy your $800+ investment. But although I still have Apple Care, the iPhone Air finally feels like a phone that is durable and light enough to be used fearlessly with no case. Mine is in pristine condition after 5 months of caseless use. It's amazing - finally.

Correction, it gives 'you' what you need and that is purely subjective to the individual. Those extras are more important for many others and no doubt the reason the 17 Pro/Pro Max have been vastly more popular than the Air in terms of sales. The Air is a nice looking phone no doubt, but its an entry level spec iPhone for lighter users.

A lot of users also prefer using a case on their iPhones to disguise it somewhat and also for better grip. I will admit I prefer my phone to be less obvious to others when I am using it, and less prone to falling out of my hands. I drop my phone a lot and work in heavy engineering where things like that are exposed to harsh environments.
