Is there anyway with firewire that my Sony HDV camcorder can record in HDV directly from my FCP or MOV file? like it works in DV but with the HDV setup...thanx

You can record from FCP onto your Sony HDV camera, but not in the same way you can w/DV due to HDV's compression scheme. To go record from FCP to your HDV camera you have to conform your sequence for output. You can't simply send a video signal out to the camera via FW like you can w/DV.

I have had to do this and just a warning that depending on your comp, it can take a while. The execution process for my HV30 was really specific and I had to press record at just the right time. I haven't really played with it since I did it the first two times.
I should probably give it another go....
