Is the smaller screen size of the 2020 iPhone SE preventing from upgrading from the 2017 iPhone 8 Plus?

The 2020 LCD screen is 326 ppi. The 8 Plus screen is 401 ppi.
While many people say they can’t see the difference, I sure can. The 326ppi screens don’t look as sharp to me and kind of bug my eyes compared to the Plus screen.

iOS 9 killed the iPhone 4S. Don’t do it. Might as well toss it in the trash instead of installing iOS 9.
Nothing is available for iOS 9 anymore anyway. No new apps. Safari barely works.
I agree it becomes slow.

But nothing prevents you from downloading apps that you've used in the past. Older versions may still work. Also, there are other browsers out there besides Safari. Safari is not the be all end all of web browsers on Apple branded computers and devices.

And no one, let alone, Apple is holding a gun to your head saying 'You MUST use Safari and ONLY Safari!'

I just don't understand the obsession with this POS browser.

My wife just upgraded from a 6 to 13PM. Difference is incredible. Screen is better, camera is way better, battery life is amazing, and it is faster overall. I have a 7 plus and intended to wait until the 14 but her upgrade has made waiting difficult. I hope I can hold out.

No regrets? I've read of some users who regret upgrading from a iPhone slightly newer or older than the 6 and then getting buyer's remorse with any 13.

Gone from a 6S+ and an XSMax here to 2x 13 pro max here.
No problems with either of the older phones except some of the more recent apps were not able to be updated on the 6
Biggest difference overall is just how slick everything is. Web pages and apps load way faster.
There's nothing wrong with the old phones but you do see a difference and once you see the difference, you don't feel satisfied with the old phones.
I personally like the home button and I do think having to swipe to get back to the home is a bit of a pfaff as I sometimes miss the spot. I prefer the 6 for that.
The camera is very definitely better. I haven't had any quality issues with screen or camera (and we have 2 remember)
Night photography is way better.
The screen is bigger in a phone of about the same size and that's nice because after all that's what you do everything on and frankly, it's still not big enough.
You have 5G of course although it's difficult to know what a difference that makes. It depends on the service you've got and if it works well you can't really say it wouldn't on 4G or if there is in fact a difference, but I think having more bands available as the phones get newer, you are much more likely to get a good signal on one of them.
I don't think there's anything else of note for how we use them. I'm not really bothered about the aesthetics or small details that have changed and you need to adapt to- that was true with the phone you've got and it probably felt odd when you got it.

Oh yes big one: battery life is INCREDIBLE how did I forget that!!!

No regrets. She loves it. The difference in the screen quality alone is impressive let alone the battery life in the PM. Personally I was holding out for the notch to be eliminated and for touch ID to be added back in, although if the need to wear masks everywhere continues to improve, I could be tempted.
