From Yosemite to El Capitan - inplace upgrade?

From Yosemite to El Capitan

What is best way to upgrade - inplace upgrade (using El Capitan USB) OR complete wipe and import TM data?
 
I would do a TM backup first, then just run the installer over the existing instance. If you were jumping 2 or more versions, would probably recommend a clean install. Your experience will be the same as everyone else installing on day 1, with the added bonus of having all the major bugs patched.
