PS: For a high profile website, the people writing the copy for MacRumors have an extremely embarrassing grasp on grammar... so this is for you:

Those are wasted clock cycles just to protect against a flawed design of having a bezel too small.

That's true, because apple products always have symmetry. Maybe that's why they keep them so large, because there are different components in each bezel and they may give the illusion that they're bigger than they actually are, and if they're made smaller, that might happen.

Just a thought.

Let's see - once the September event comes - who, of the people who were and are absolutely convinced the iPhone 6 5.5" would be a reality, has the humility and backbone to come back here, refer to this post and swallow their arrogant know-it-all attitude, and say "sorry, we were wrong, and sorry for being a pig headed know it all"

I'll put a VERY VERY large bet on no SINGLE person doing so.

Here's a direct link to this post, so you may refer back to this post, whilst I hand you a flanned to wipe the egg off your faces:

So you think they'll just release a 4.7" iPhone 6? No 4" iPhone 6 too? When did they decide 4.7" was the perfect size, and the other sizes are useless? I think there should be a 4" iPhone 6 for a significant number of people, a 4.7" iPhone 6 for the vast majority of people, and a 5.5" iPhone 6 for a decent amount of people.

Neither does any other leak ???

Using your logic, they should, therefore, go back and make a 3.5" iPhone 5 and 5S, and a 3.5" iPod Touch 5G then...

What you think is precisely that; what you think, and seems to bear no relation to logic or product evolution.

PS: This is a rumours site (you might possibly have noticed?) - nothing means anything - it's all speculation, but - if we're going to go on what is seen (which could also be false) there is SIGNIFICANT pictoral "evidence" of there being a 4.7" version, and as good as nothing for ANY other size whatsoever, bar two coloured rectangles.

Why would they make a 4 inch 6? We already have the 5S for people who want a phone that size.

Exactomondo, good friend.

I've decided to go and watch TV - this site is as ridiculously head-slamming and face-palming as ever, and I don't want to lose my peace - if I stay here, I'll get annoyed and that will spoil my night, and that ain't happening, least of all over a discussion over unprovables on a site talking to random people. :)

Have a lovely day or night everyone, enjoy proving who's wrong and right, and I'll see you all on the eve of the iPhone 6 event :)

Hahah well then I have a better idea. How about they make a 4" iPhone 6 and a 4.7" and 5.5" iPhone 5S? Oh wait, that's right, people buy phones for the newest specs. Damn. Let's say I were one of the people that wanted a 4" iPhone 6, but all I had forever more was the iPhone 5S specs. Yeah that sounds great!!!! (this is sarcasm just so you know).

Ever wonder why it is the newest iteration sells the most? Hmmm.. It's a real brain buster let me tell you....

3.5"? um no, that wouldn't be using my logic, that's using your logic, and it doesn't seem there is any logic there, sorry to say...

What I think is what I think, and what you think is what you think, luckily I actually think.

This is a rumors site and nothing means anything, but you seem to think everything means there will be a 4.7" and not a 5.5". So I can't tell, does nothing mean anything to you or not? I think you're highly confused. Delirium maybe? I know this is hard for some people on here to grasp, but maybe the iPhone 6 5.5" isn't going to be released at the same time.

Yeah because the HTC One M8 looks nothing like the M7 and the Galaxy S3, 4 and 5 look nothing alike. Should we have a go at TV makers because every TV is a black rectangle?

Yeah that HTC One M8 looks so different and much more interesting than the M7.

My god, EVERY SINGLE TIME somebody is criticizing Apple, you come up with other manufacturers for a ridiculous defense. Nokia these, Samsung that, bla bla bla  In the postings you reply to, do you see other manufacturers mentioned?

Notification light? Are you hearing impaired? Anyone ever ask themselves why LED notification is in accessibility under hearing? Hint: it's to improve the accessibility of the phone for the hearing impaired, not so you can turn off vibrate, and sounds and hope you're looking at the device when you get a notification.

----------

I for myself are not hearing impaired but I appreciate the LED notification light on my phone immensely. I have the feeling, that if Apple would include one on their phone, you would praise it as the second coming of Christ

I wouldn't mind seeing a notification light implemented like the MacBook battery and "sleep" light.

I checked with my resources and was not shocked to learn that "Rogifan" is an alternate use of the term: "Apple sycophant".
If Apple ever comes to a suden stop i fear he/she will hurt their neck.

Is there a reason this thread title doesn't say "alleged" anywhere? How does MR know if it's legit or not?

Apple seriously needs to send those top and bottom bezels to Jenny Craig. It is still too fat.

No, I legitimately would never use it, I like battery life, and I hear and/or feel fine so I'm good. I understand some people may feel the way you do though.

I don't really care if they produce a 5.5" iPhone, nor do I discredit the signs of its impending release. BUT, I will be pretty unhappy if the rumors of the 5.5" version getting a faster processor and more premium features turns out true. It is doubtful a faster processor is necessary to run the larger screen, since it would likely be the exact same resolution as the 4.7" model, so the only thing I can think of that would be necessary would be a larger battery to accommodate the backlighting increase. To assume that simply having a larger screen equates to a flagship offering is arbitrary, and contrary to Apple's philosophy thus far, which is that a larger screen does not a better phone make. I have absolutely no interest in carrying a gigantic 5.5" phablet, but have every intention of purchasing the fastest and best iPhone available in September.

Still a little bummed they couldnt get the bezel smaller. by the time the remodel comes around for the iphone 7 its going to be the biggest bezel around.

You're exactly right, you want the fastest device available, just like almost everyone. The hilarious part are these people that ignorantly say 'why would they make a 4" iPhone 6 that's stupid because there's already the 5S for them folks' like people don't understand that no one that wants a 4" device wants forced into last year's specs. Like they'd be okay with 5S specs on the 4.7" or 5.5" iPhone. Just embarrassing.

This isn't accurate most likely. Check out the previous posts or Google iPhone 6 panel scratch tests. That's the actual panel most likely, and it has far thinner bezels, as well as a bevel around the edges, which makes perfect sense.

The bigger form factor would likely have different thermal considerations, allowing a higher performance processor (or a processor that can run at its maximum frequency for longer periods of time). It would also likely allow a bigger (die area) processor, which would also generally indicate higher performance. So it may be that Apple decides to give it a higher performance processor because it can. Or not. Who knows.

I can assure you, that a blinking LED consumes far less energy than -let's say- a vibration motor and the battery life on my phone (LG G2) is phenomenal. I certainly wouldn't want to miss it anymore. It's great ;)

What about the iPad mini to air?

Looks like a vibration motor may be around 2x the power consumption of an LED. https://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Robotics/310-101_datasheet.pdf Though there are probably some motors that consume less power than some LEDs, so your mileage may vary.

What about the iPad mini to air?

I seem to recall some tests that show that the air actually runs faster on benchmarks, because the thermals are such that the air has to clock down more often.
