I suspected something like this. Now that we're cleared that up, here's the link for those of you who'd like to check out MediaCentral : http://www.equinux.com/us/products/mediacentral/index.html :)

Cool program, I highly recommend it!

We have a couple of people who have gone overboard posting the same, illegal links and it's a bit frustrating. I want to be able to use Front Row or some other product as much as the next person but I won't until it's legal. I'm sure it's quite understandable that MacRumors can't allow those links for the sake of legal liability. Surely, the same people who enjoy the forums would hate to see one link cause a financial catastrophe which would shut down the forums.

A little confused here, are you saying there's a problem with posting the link MediaCentral, or just referring to the problems with links to Front Row?

If my memory serves me correct, there where two links posted. One to MediaCentral or some other place with the legal Apple provided Front Row Update which only works on Macs that come with front row. The other was a link to a site telling you how to hack the updater to get front row on any mac. The second is not allowed on the is site because it is illegal. With the numerous number of links to this on specific illegal site, it wouldn't be that unrealistic for them both to get trashed by accident. If people would stop posting the illegal link, then maybe it wouldn't be so difficult for the mods to moderate the legal ones.

MediaCentral doesn't host Front Row (or any "Enablers") - MediaCentral is a freeware multimedia interface - it's a program similar to Front Row. Just to clear that up :)

Oh, I'm sorry. See, too many links. I'm getting confused. Buy this is exactly my point. Earlier on, there was a link to an illegal site (I think there were actually two links by two separate posters) and maybe one to MacUpdate(?). Things just get hectic with all these links. If the illegal links were not posted, then the mods (and I) would not get confused by the legal ones.

I'm concerned about any links to Front Row. The combination of the Apple support link is innocent enough but add the VersionTracker link and it's an illegal combination.
