I'm surprised at the lack of elegance front row has when it comes to handling referenced mov files if the source is disconnected! I have an external HD with the actual movies on and have created the reference files so as I can watch the films via FR without having my MBPs HD cluttered with loads of movies. When I launch FR without my ext HD connected, and browse to the movies section, FR has a lot of trouble - obviously looking for the files. I would have thought a much better way of handling them would be to check if the files are there on launch (or when first browsing to movies) and the ones it cannot find it could grey out and miss them out whilst scrolling. Currently it can sometimes stumble through but also has a tendency to crash - especially if you try and play a disconnected file!

End of rant

And your point? Why are you wasting time with this? If you don't have your external connected then you can't watch the movies so what difference does it make what FR's reaction is, it can't play your movies.
