    hi all

I've been trying to use Front row for awhile now but have encountered some problems.

I don't purchase a lot of movies, tv shows from iTunes, instead i buy mine from Futureshop, Best Buy etc and as a result I have a huge collection of store bought tv shows, movies etc in dvd cases.
My question is how can i get Front row to recognize my dvds and tv shows and movies. Whenever i activate front row it says i need to purchase my stuff from the iTunes store. I am aware of a program called Mac the Ripper which lets me put my stuff onto my iMac but where do i go from there and how to i get front row to dinguish my ripped dvds as tv shows and movies.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Once you've ripped them off the DVD with Mac the Ripper, I think you need to convert them to something Frontrow friendly like mpeg4 - check out a program called Handbrake....

Gee is partly right ... Use the Mac the Ripper --link in my sig.

Once you do that process then google dvd assist app then download the app install it.. There's a little file named startthemovie.mov .. rename title to dvd name then make an alias of the file and drag the alias to the movie folder in finder.. Then the movies will show up in Movies in Front Row :D

I dont fully understand what your saying can you please explain to me what you have to do after i rip using mac the ripper. Thnks alot.

And even if i do follow that method Front row wont be able to tell the difference between my tv shows and my movies.

However my question is how can i get front row to reconize the difference b/w my tv shows and my movies. As i recall if i click on video the options are somethings like movies, tvshows and other things. If i purchase tv shows from iTunes then Front row will reconize them as tv shows and not movies but if i rip everything as a video_ts then front row will think all my dvds and movies. Is there anyway around this? Is there a folder within my hardrive which says tv shows, moves etc?????

    HELP??????/

Front Row will recognize any files that are in your Movies folder, so if you put ripped DVDs in that folder (or any subfolder of the Movies folder), you can access them through Front Row.
