I recently was using a trial version of CS3 and it froze and I for some reason opened up Activity Monitor and I saw that Photoshop was taking over 100% of the CPU and i think i saw it go up to 180% !!

Why is it doing this, and should I be worried if my computer is doing this?

I also noticed that the fan came on shortly after it froze so i opened System Preferences and "Fan Control" and it said that the temperature was at 77 degrees:eek:

are u worried about the fact that it went over 100%>?< or the fact that it froze??
EACH core of the computer ads 100%, so if u have 2 u haev 200%. if u have 8 u have a magassive 800%!!!! (how good would that be)

hope photoshop doesnt freeze 4 u anymore.

i just think that the extreme heat my not be good for it
I didn't think about it being because of multiple cores.

Photoshop froze when i hit the "f" key to go to full screen  so its not like i even did something hard to handle as far as the application goes.

nah dw about that heat. its fine. trust me. mine might sit at 80°C constantly. you can get fan control programs that let u set it urself. or what i do, is just take out the battery when im at home or something. that leaves it nice and cool:D
