Still here.
Almost daily, I notice my MacBook Pros will start ramping up and keep finding that it's because fseventsd is using 100% of my CPU. I force kill it and that temporarily solves the issue.

I have no clue what is going on and can't seem to find any solutions online, but I do notice that the Trash doesn't seem to work properly while this is happening. Not sure if that's related.

I've had this issue since before Catalina, but using Catalina now. Also, nothing in the Console app stands out to me, but again, I'm not really sure what's going on or what to look for.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give! :)

Edit: Also, I did run the first aid tool in Disk Utility a while back and that didn't seem to help.

Edit 2: The issue in this thread could be related, but sounds like a recurring issue.

Is it okay to bump this? Still an issue and very annoying. Absolutely killing my battery life because I keep having for Force Quit the service.

Try creating a new clean user account, restart the computer, login to the new user account and see if the issue happens in the new user account.

I could do this, but it's a work system and it may require days of using the new account before I would experience the issue. And not experiencing it within a couple days wouldn't be confirmation that the issue wasn't present, either.
