Just got my 2020 air in today, i5 model, and noticed on the bottom case that in addition to the previous 20v 1.5a rating, it now also carries a 20.3v 3a rating that the 13” pro has.

Both the 2018 and 2019 Retina Airs were rated for 20v 1.5a.

So does that mean we can use all 61W of a compatible charger?

That’s what it sounds like. That would be great, since it means that it would charge 2x as fast if you have a MacBook Pro charger (or other 60/61W USB-C charger).

Yeah I had picked up a 45w PD battery pack that came with a 60w charger so I’m happy I can use that for the MBA and get full power.
 
Sorry if this is stupid question but a 61W charger would charge the MacBook Air twice as fast as the 30W? Please don't kill the newb!

Unlikely twice as fast but it should be faster. Lithium batteries can only be charged at max rate between 20-80%, once you get past 80% the charge rate slows down significantly so the speed boost from using a larger power supply wouldn't help as much
