Don't care not the pros :c
Then why post? Never understood these kinds of comments. Is it just attention-seeking “look at me”?

Looking forward to getting a pair of these. The new chip and tweaks to the form factor will be worth it.

I also like the design or the regular AirPods better. Both the tap controls ( set on left ear as play pause and on the right ear as skip song) as well as the fact that they don’t seal my ears is great. Moreover, with Siri reading messages, reminders, allowing to answer calls with your voice, I really don’t miss the stem controls. I am also lucky enough to live in a quiet place. No noise cancellation needed.

My only real question is: will the non pro AirPods support spatial audio?
AirPods 3 need a "hook", and since they most likely won't feature any kind of ANC I expect the selling points to be
1. Every feature that the AirPods Pro have that don't require ANC to work. AirPods 3 do seem to feature some of the microphones that APP have so I don't see why Spatial Audio wouldn't work. Spatial Audio is also a selling point for getting Apple Music so Apple would be doing itself a disservice to not include it in as many products as possible.
2. New and improved "H2" chip that works via Bluetooth 5.1 or 5.2 and is able to output much higher kbps than the 256kbps(is it even less?) that all current AirPods are limited to. iPhone 13 will also feature Bluetooth 5.1 or 5.2.

Wildcard prediction: AirPods 3 are the first AirPods to output lossless audio(from Apple Music). I don't count on it but it's a bit odd to launch lossless audio and not have any AirPods out that can make use of it (wirelessly). This might also only work between two Bluetooth 5.2 devices thus creating a clear incentive to get an iPhone 13 too.

Apple failed at "Force sensor controls" - The AirPods Pros and their loss of Tap Controls are the biggest Apple Fail in Apple History! Period. If this rumor is true, Apple needs to GTF out of sunny Cupertino and try using AirPods with Gloves, Hats, Mittens, Hoodies, Helmets, Holding ski poles, tangled in a Covid mask or when Siri doest work (always). The AirPods can skip or pause sound hands full by tapping your head on wall! Show me a killer feature anywhere that beats that. The loss of tap controls would be the ultimate tech fail.
I agree. But what I don't get is why Apple couldn't put both tapping and "pinch" controls in APP, or at least have me switch between the two in Settings.

Absolutely, if they put both on it would be perfect as you could then use each squeeze button for e.g. volume down/up and use tapping for next track/previous track.

I tried the Pros and, personally, the pressure from any of the sized tips gave me unavoidable pressure in my ears. Looking forward to trying these out to replace my very used gen 1s.

I sure hope they’re as comfortable to lie on your side with as are the current Gen 2 AirPods. Love those, excited for any functional improvement. Otherwise I may be buying up a few Gen 2’s to hoard onto, like Elaine and her sponges. :)

My better half does not like rubber-tipped ear phones, but I do, so these will be great for him (upgrading from corded EarPods) and I may upgrade to the Pro's from my old trusty Beats-X.
