Hello guys!

I have an iPhone SE 2 and I would like to know if there is any way to take a photo in a person's whole body portrait mode.

When I move away to frame the whole body in the photo, the message "move closer" appears and the portrait mode does not work (does not blur the background).

Disappointing the XR and SE 2 portrait mode works only on the face 😒

Use an app called Focos, it allows you to do portrait mode captures at any distance, well worth the in-app purchase to fine tune the bokeh and access the full thing, it's one of the best apps I've come across in my photo workflow.

The accuracy won't be as good as it is close up but it does a great job and you can paint corrections to the depth map as well.

Thanks for the answer!

I usually use Focos and it's really good. It is a shame that the native app does not have the same result. Having to use a parallel app to take photos is not very practical.

I believe the native app is trained to do portraits really rather than be a thin depth of field bokeh simulation for other purposes.

This!

A full length bokeh looks too fake. A DSLR won’t do what Focos app does.

No... sorry. They are probably DSLR photos. I understood you to say that a full length bokeh looks too fake.

When you use Focos, the foreground and the background doesn’t blend in like how it does with lenses with huge focal length, unless you manually meticulously edit them after. Try it and you’ll see what I mean.

Yes, it certainly does not have the same result as a DSLR, but it is much better than the native camera.

I think the solution is to migrate to an iPhone with at least two lenses (it is quite annoying to need a parallel app for photos).
