Hey guys,

So I recently got a new computer and it's on Mohave. As you probably know, certain apps can't work unless you add it to the Full Disk Access section under Security and Privacy. However, no matter what I add, it won't do anything.

I did the research on here and on Google. I tried adjusting permissions and I did unlock the system preferences and neither seemed to help the situation.

So far I've attempted to follow the directions Onyx and Bitdefender have given me with no luck and I would prefer not to upgrade Mohave if possible because of some app compatibility if possible.

If anyone can give me any input that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Here is a Screen recording example of my issue for anyone that needs a visual example (as unlisted):

Interesting. Does the issue persist a reboot? If you log into the system's guest account does it work there? What version of Mojave is this? Would you be willing to re-install Mojave; I.e. not upgrading just reinstalling the current OS?

It does persist both after reboot, shutting down, and updating security software. My Mojave version is 10.4.6.

As for reinstalling Mojave, I'd rather not do that if possible, but if I have no other option. I'll gladly do it.

As for the guest account, I just tested that and I still got the same results on the guest account as well.

Very bizarre. Usually if you have a broken pref pane it usually works in another user account. Never seen anything like this, so save from trying a reinstall, I don't really have any ideas - guess we can see if anyone else comes with any input on it

Try to reset the permissions database with
Code:
sudo tccutil reset SystemPolicyAllFiles

Hey guys! I have fantastic news! I figured it out and am going to share it to anyone that wants to know.

The reason why you can't add apps is because System Integrity Protection is turned on. In order to turn it off, follow the directions in this link here. After, you should be able to adds apps into it no problem. It may be slow at first to adjust but after it does it works just as fast as before. At least, that's the case for me anyways.

You should not need to disable SIP for this though
