Hello,

has anybody played around with the full disk encryption on the latest developper preview of OS X Lion and can tell me if it supports hibernation (deep sleep)?

I am currently using PGP WDE (Whole Disk Encryption) and it doesn’t support hibernation (that’s an Apple limitation they say).

Hibernation is a very nice feature if you have an SSD-laptop: you can configure your laptop to go into hibernation every time you close it, since it takes very little time to wake up from hibernation with an SSD. This way you save a substantial amount of battery.

Cheers,

kaz, I was wondering if using WDE affect performance of either an HDD or an SSD in S.L. or Lion OS X? Have you noticed any slowness in read or write speeds?
