Think I'll pass. If this is accurate then it seems more like a 12S to me.
The first year of new design iPhones are for buyers who prefer novelty over practicality.

The 'S' models are the smart choice for matured and perfected features within the design framework.

So a new S model, basically… if not for that upgrade program I doubt this would sell very well. I guess that was the plan with the upgrade program though.

I used to upgrade every year but now (I'm still using the 11 Pro Max) I'll be doing every other year upgrade. I'll be getting the 13 but may go for the non-pro version.

I wasn't excited about the 13 models but if they do indeed come with the LEO feature, that would be a huge game changer for me. I live in the mountains of East Tennessee and spend a lot of time mountain biking and hiking in areas with little to no service.

This years is far bigger than last year. I consider last year an s year more than this one

iPhone 13 will be a good update to the iPhone lineup. Waiting to see the new colours. Would be nice to see bright colours, instead of the pastel colours Apple has been having for the last two years. XR had bright colours.

Ugh. I so wanted to upgrade this year, but I refuse to do so until TouchID returns. I’m so sick of having to look directly at my phone to open it. Bonus points if they switch to USB C.

I hope my 8+ lasts until they bring Touch ID back (please bring Touch ID back…).

Damn these are going to be expensive.
These will probably cost as much as my 2021 iPP  Kind of kidding, but Apple never gives more features for less money than the previous model. You'd think over time tech would offer a bit more for less. Sigh, see you at the Apple Store.

After reading the article and responses, I think I’ll wait until next year for a new iPhone and iWatch. I currently have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iWatch 6.
A few improvements but not enough for me to run out and buy new Apple products.
Mine still work gr8, are under warranty until next year.
Plus why waste money on something that is that similar?
Plus the stronger magnets are not a gr8 feature if you have a pacemaker and other electromagnetic medical implants.
Time to spend$$$$$ and buy new cases, magnetic chargers, wall plugins, screen protectors, lense protectors, new data/sync cables, and the list goes on.
Next year looks good to me.
Cheers!

Why only AAC Bluetooth with maximum of 256 kbps? I bought my first iPhone the 12 pro max. Been an android user previously.
Apple Music announces they have lossless audio but without a headphone jack, you have to use funky dongles Android supports LDAC hi res Bluetooth and aptX hd Bluetooth codecs but Apple does not. WHY? That is stupid. Ldac has a bitrate of over 900 kbps but AAC is limited to 256. My Sony headphones have ldac built in but I cannot use it.
So what I have been doing is sharing my data with my android tablet and running Apple Music from it and connected to my Sony headphones using LDAC.

FIX THIS APPLE. ITS STUPID

Just purchased a 12 mini, an early upgrade from my SE 2020. Could have waited for the 13 model but couldn’t turn down a 20% discount on Amazon, and the rumoured upgrades aren’t convincing enough for me to pay full price. Those who are purchasing any of the 13 models later this month, hope you enjoy your purchase!

As a SE 2020 owner, I'm curious as to why the 12 mini? I have been thinking about a 13 mini, but not sure exactly what I am gaining.

- OLED Screen, fallen in love with HDR content since my M1 ipad pro purchase
- Even smaller in size then the SE 2020 but has a larger screen, win win
- Dual camera system, with the ability to record HDR video
- Face ID, regularly wear gloves in my work so will find it more convenient
- A14 Bionic chip for greater longevity and software support
- Bigger battery (not much, but something at least)

Hmmm.... I think maybe it is time to upgrade from my iPhone 7. The battery only lasts about 1/2 of my day. But I've loved the size of it and I'm a bit of a Scrooge McDuck when it comes to spending money on myself.

I see quite a few Mini changes in my future.

I think I’ll upgrade from XR, my least liked iPhone I’ve ever owned. I hate the size, awkward to grip and a pain to carry in my pocket.

the Face ID stopped working after a drop. No cracks in the screen luckily.

I get about 8hrs of use before needing to charge despite my batt health being %91 max capacity.

I could probably keep this phone another 2 years but the size, weight of it and the fact that Face ID isn’t working is annoying enough to make me want to upgrade to mini.

but on the flip side maybe in two years they’re finally get rid of the notch?
