What would be the easiest way to make a view that has full-screen pictures with a black background, like the photos app?
This has been done in several apps, including the facebook one as well. I would love for a finger swipe to "flick" to the next picture, but the basic view is mainly what I'm looking for.
Any suggestions or places to look?

There is a very good example of this in the WWDC 2010 session videos...I believe it's the "Master Scroll Views" talk. I recommend watching this and looking at the sample code.

True, but then again, once you're fairly proficient with Cocoa touch, there's no reason to reinvent the wheel.

I'm no fan of Three20...its big and bloated and full of internal dependencies and tight coupling and certainly not something I'd recommend to a beginner.
