My apologies if I missed this in another thread, but the expand-to-full-screen function isn't working in the Youtube app on my Mini.

I'm sure there's an obvious reason for this and is easily solved since I haven't seen a thread on it.

What am I missing?

Works fine for me. Have you tried killing the app in the app switcher and re-opening it?

Yes, I've both closed the app and rebooted the phone to no avail.

....also just deleted/reinstalled the app.

The pinch function works for every other app I've used on here, so I'm not sure why it's only happening on Youtube..

Is everyone viewing this thread who has a 12 Mini able to pinch-to-zoom in YouTube?

Not working for me. Came here looking for solutions. Is it because it is a new screen size and YouTube needs to update the app for it?

I figured out the problem. If you have your display set to zoomed under the display and brightness settings, the pinch to full screen in the YouTube App doesn't work. With standard display setting it works.
That explains it. I do have mine set to zoomed. Thanks!

Yep, mine's zoomed and that's the issue. Thanks, PJ!

Thanks alot. I have tried everything and nothing worked. This is the solution🎉🎉🎉🎉

Hi y'all, any way around that? I'd like to have the zoomed display set on my iphone, with the exception of youtube, in order to get full-screen videos. Maybe something can be done in the shortcuts section? Thanks in advance.

You simply need to select the normal screen view in the iPhone settings, as opposed to the enlarged one. Too bad that can't be selected separately for each app.

I'd like that too, so if there's any way to do that while being able to get full-screen videos, I'm all ears
