I assume you're looking at a MacBook or MacBook Pro. You can adjust the backlighting dimmer or brighter, and turn it off if you need to.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, were you dropped on the head as a child? Repeatedly? The search is there for a reason!

Please, please, PLEASE don't buy a MacBook... or any computer... ever... I somehow doubt you'd be able to use it, let alone turn it on... Oh, and you do that by opening it up and pressing the round circular thing that's on the top right hand side on the bottom part of the case.
