Thanks for the feedback guys! By the way, I was bummed about iStat Menus not working, so I sent a message to the dev and got a beta that works with Snow Leopard! :D

the only issue i see in SL is quicktime 7 shows up when i open a .mov file sometimes. Ive to right click the .mov and select quicktime x. Not sure if this is a bug maybe.
I assumed quicktime 7 was removed on upgrade.
i did notice that quicktime 7 is in the application/utilities folder and quicktime x is just in the application folder.
Maybe I will just drag quicktime 7 to trash and see what happens.

It asks you during installation if you want it to give you QuickTime 7 as well. I guess trashing it will solve the problem.

Plug-in sandboxing in Safari is great. Flash just crashed on me, but Safari itself kept standing and was responsive throughout.

As far as I can tell, it's only the whole screen, unless there's some option I'm missing. :(

That sucks. I was hoping I could get rid of my current screen recording software, but if you can't record only a portion of the screen, then I won't be doing that anytime soon.

Maybe this is something they could update in a 10.6.x release.

I doubt they will, it's only meant to be a basic built-in functionality, not to fully compete with the commercial third party software.

Err, I suppose you could, but it would be stuck with everything else on your screen, and you'd have to use your microphone as the audio source, so quality would suck. You could in theory, though. I wouldn't rely on it.

or just plug a AUX cord from ur mic imput to ur AUX out

Huh. Does the Quicktime title bar cover up some of the video? Looks like it (look at Neo's hair; it seems like the bar above it is translucent). I've not followed QTX much--does the title bar disappear if you're not using player controls?

Upon finishing my installation, I was greeted with the exact same welcome movie as the one in Leopard.

You do realize that if you'd waited for the final shipment, you might have seen a new intro video? I don't think anything is forcing them to include that video until the actual printing of the DVD's.

actually, at $9.99 (thanks to the up-to-date program), I see no reason not to update to Snow Leopard either. :)

I have one, it doesn't support all the apps I use, therefore to upgrade I must upgrade expensive apps like CS 3.

I'm not an iMovie user but couldn't you crop the video in there? Ultimately you could always use Screenflow or Snapz to do that kind of stuff.

I'm curious about the iChat performance. When I do full screen iChat on my MacBook (mid 2007), I get a lot of fan noise. Does the reduced bandwidth solve this or make it worse as the processor has more work to do decompressing?

I suppose I'll find out soon as I'll be installing it tonight.
