Hi
I have this very annoying problem with my macbookpro i5 mid2010.
Everytime i watch a video, youtube, vimeo or from any other source, the fans go crazy at 6200, even if the temperature is still the same.
I know this is a common problem but i'd like to know if there's any fix, except not playing flash video with 3rd parts extensions.
The thing is that i don't remember i had this when i buyed it.
And as i'm on snow leopard 10.6.8, i think it could be related to a recent .7 or .8 update. Maybe graphic drivers? What do you think?
Also, i recently put a owc data doubler, do you think it could be related to this?
I did a smc and pram reset, no changes. Thanks

Not related to the Data Doubler.

You can get a fan control application and force the fans to run slow. I haven't used it before but I see smcFanControl mentioned in the forums a lot.

thank you, i will try it.
I also add that this happens with skype too, but i don't see any cpu increase using video applications, and only the left side next to the keyboard gets hotter.

I get the same thing with Skype, it gets pretty hot. It's normal, unfortunately. And there is a cpu increase, trust me. Your graphics takes the heat too, not just the CPU.

Update your flash plugin once in a while, there're sometimes new efficiencies in new releases that can help with quality and performance.
