Another keyboard moaning thread.

I've always agreed that the new MacBook design is pretty subpar, but seeing so many complaints about the keyboard, I thought it to myself I must just be lucky with by 2017 MBP.

Until this week.

Function key, Option key, and F key has started to be unresponsive. If you're on an 2016-2017 MPB and yet to have any issues, pray your luck doesn't run out! Even though there is a repair program, having to possbily send it off for a week at a time will be a huge pain in the ass.

Curious... did the issue develop over time or did they all just suddenly start having problems?

If dust/debris is the issue, you’d think it would slowly start affecting those keys that are unlucky in the dust ingress lottery. But if your function, option, and F suddenly started having issues in only a week timeframe, I wonder if there’s something else causing it ... heat has been a theory from some.

Stories like this really have me down on buying a new MBP. I hope that there's a refresh of the Mac Pro soon. I do not like the concept of the iMac and I'd like discrete graphics and don't want to go eGPU on a Mini. Right now my only option is multiple 2015s.

I bought this machine as soon as they refreshed the 2017 MPB. So I think it's about 18 months old now?

Over the course of a few weeks key issues were just cropping up more and more.
