Funny characters in terminal?

    Hi everyone, apologies in advance that this is a complete beginner's question. I recently opened terminal and found that the prompt looks a bit funny:

    Code:
    [COLOR="Green"]mq67[/COLOR]:~ mycomputername$
    (where "mycomputername" is the name I gave my computer). I don't recall ever seeing the "mq67" before, however, and was wondering where it came from and how to change it back to something more sensible?

    Also, when I open terminal I get the following line:

    Code:
    [Last login: Thu Aug 7 16:07:29 on [COLOR="Green"]ttys000[/COLOR]
    What does the ttys000 mean?

    Any assistance would be appreciated. I don't remember these weird values being there.

    tty is another name for the terminal. ttys must mean tty service or is your telnetting to a remote system called ttys.
