I thought that too, until I discovered the "Confirm name" feature, underneath "[PERSON] may also be in the photos below". Click that and iPhoto zooms in on each of the faces where you can click to confirm, or double click to reject (I remember Phil showed you can drag a box over multiples to confirm too somehow). Once you are "done" there, it brings up more photos it thinks might be the same person. (apologies if this was incredibly obvious for everyone...)

True, it takes a while to train iPhoto, but the great thing is it's actually loads of fun, because you get to see all these photos you've forgotten about! :)

I use that, too, but still, there's no way to just have him show all unknown faces, or if you reject them, to add them to another name

Some good one's here! Not got screenshots to prove it (but it did happen :D), but iPhoto has thrown the following up for me:

- Thinks my Mum is my daughter in a number of photo's, (Gene-pool recognition!)?

- In one picture of my daughter there was a photoframe on the wall with a picture of her and it recognised her in that photo - far too clever!!

Can't get it to recognise the cat though!!

- D

I took some shots of a local pro soccer team in the midst of all of my eleventy billion photos. I swear that every single person who I face-tagged, he came up as a possibility. The fact that he's quite black and only one other person in my library is even dark-skinned just makes it more hilarious.

However, I think the feature works about as well as it can for an $80 package. As you keep telling it who is in certain pictures, it definitely learns more about each person's face. It beats the snot out of the no-option we had in iLife '08.

Good job my wife, Sue, has a sense of humour . . .

I dont have a picture of it - I should have done a screen capture at the time - but I have a brother that it kept suggesting a drag queen's picture.

(My brother would not have been pleases but it made me smile LOL.)

Do you have a large collection of drag queen images?

Here's the ones I've found so far that I've laughed at. Obviously the third one wasn't a wrong detection, I just thought it was funny it only identified one face in the entire group =P

For anyone familiar with Canadian politics, I have a picture with Chretien, and I tagged him, then, it's suggestion brought up the picture with Iggy as a potential second photo of Chretien.

Iggy=reincarnated? Chretien

You could probably sell that pic on eBay.

I guess iPhoto hasn't picked up a Bible recently. :D

Honestly, my collection of wedding photos is so large that I had never seen that picture! I think it is HILARIOUS that I closed my eyes during one of the most symbolic photos I would ever take.

It reminds me of my name is earl and how Earl closes his eyes in every picture he takes.
