Easy to say, but how would you feel if it was someone close to you from your family that died and after just a year movie studios are ready to do a movie (that most likely won't be accurate) about them. Especially in this case where it's suppose to be a comedy? To the public and the media it's entertainment, to the close family members it's a kick in the stomach.

Was he "close" to you or from your family?
If someone I knew or was close to died and someone wanted to make a movie (accurate or not) wouldn't bother me. At least he would be important enough and remembered that someone would actually want to make a movie.
All im saying is some people around here act like they were best friends with Steve or something. In reality, for most people he is just another person that has passed away. Sorry, but life goes on

It has nothing to do with people feeling like they are friends with Steve Jobs, it's simply about humanity and some people here don't seem to have any. Keep telling yourself that it wouldn't bother you if your parent or close family member (who was a prominent figure in the media) died and within a year movie studios just want to capitalize off their success using heartless tactics.
Wait until it's your turn to mourn and let someone say to your face, "life goes on....but sir we need to get this comedy movie out so we can make money".

Ok - so as long as we're clear you're not really taking this personally at all

Looking forward to this

I've been an Apple Fan since my Apple II in the late 70's. While I was aware of Steve Jobs and Woz near the time of the macintosh' birth, I'd say I didn't become a "fan" of theirs until the mid to late 90's after I'd been using macs, professionally, for a few years.

The last 15 years? I've been a huge Steve Jobs fan. I "get" him. And I admire Woz greatly.

I am looking forward to this parody... and I believe that Justin Long will do it with great affection. But let's face it... there's a lot of ripe material here for poking fun at mac and pc fans... and their mania. I think because they plan to NOT make it an accurate biopic, they're honoring Steve Jobs. It will likely be filled with every cliche and misconception re: the man and the whole culture of his story imaginable... and acknowledge that it's doing so. It won't be mean and it won't take itself seriously.

It could be great fun!
