If you need flash, or flash is super important to you, you'll have to look at a different tablet. Apple isn't going to support flash in the iOS. The argument between Adobe and Apple has moved beyond logic (kind of like this thread) and is now about something deeper.

On one hand, I would like Apple to get over themselves and just put flash on the iOS. People want to play their facebook games in Safari on the iPad and they are not going to be happy until they can.

On the other hand, flash is a resource hog. The device would be slower and the battery life would be reduced if flash was used. You can't take something that uses such a high percentage of the processor and expect any different.

The good news for you, is that every manufacture on the face of the planet is making tablet devices now. Three years ago, how many tablets were available? A handful.

So these other manufactures need something to stand apart from the market leader. For the most part, flash is what they are using to stand apart.

And proclaiming that Steve Jobs will be dead before the iPad 3 comes out was a classy bit of thought.

It's an Apple users forum. Most people here actually enjoy Apple products. With that said, the people who enjoy those products enough to come to a forum about those products are probably going to defend those products much more than people who couldn't give a flying flip.

If you stroll over to the Xoom or Galaxy Tab forums, I'm sure you will find people who will defend the almighty Motorola or Samsung in the same way people stand up for Apple here.

Well, that is a reality, as it is sad. Besides, I don't see how it is relevant. This may be an Apple forum but is there a rule saying that Apple products can't be criticized? Supporting a company at whatever they do is plain fanboyism. And it is bad whether you do it for Apple, Microsoft, Google or whatever.

Hee hee. And this is why Android will eventually kill iPad. Unless Apple relents on Flash or the internet magically evolves to HTML5 wide adoption making Flash irrelevant.

I wonder how many first timers will be returning their iPads because they fell for the hip commercials and didn't know what they were buying?
