Future of the nR iMac?

Because of the ' minimal ' (?) cost difference between the non retina and retina iMac, they could keep the non retina ( until when ?) but downgrade it to reduce the cost until stocks begin to expire.

Could be similar to what they've done with the 21.5" models of which there are now 3 versions and continue to think what their sales/marketing strategy is in this respect, unless of course I've overlooked something obvious? Have no doubt there will be a 21.5" retina at some point,possibly sooner than later.
 
Nor does LCD, so on that basis, best not buy a RiMac?

LCD still has at least one more generation on desktop machines (including those with Retina). That technically counts as a future.

Scoring silly points about what constitutes "a future" is a childish debate I don't intend to get drawn into. The only salient fact is that all technologies are transient until something better comes along.
